Republicans Tried to Rein in Sub-Prime Excesses for Last Eight Years

Republicans have consistently over the past eight years called out warnings about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and the sub-prime excess and lack of supervison. At every turn Democrats have blocked any attempt to rein in the GSE's and prevent the financial debacle that has now occurred.

Particularly obstructive was Los Angeles Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, as you will see in the video below:

He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.
